Throughout the interior, one can observe an abundance of prints, patterns, and decorative elements reminiscent of Mezen painting—a traditional Russian folk craft from the late 19th century that originated in a village along the banks of the Mezen River, known as a heart for wood painting. The references to Mezen culture are particularly significant as it is in the Republic of Komi that the largest relict forest on the Eurasian continent is located. The patterns inspired by the traditional crafts of the northern peoples of Russia gain profound meaning and serve as a unifying element within the decor.
