Located in Moscow, Relict is a restaurant of modern, innovative cuisine based on local ingredients sourced from various regions of the country, allowing guests to savor specialties inspired by diverse culinary traditions.

The untouched and unspoiled by civilization forest being the foundation of the restaurant's concept is vividly reflected in the interior design. The creators envision the restaurant as a glimpse into a distant future where nature has reclaimed a portion of space from industrial Moscow. The decor and furniture elements demonstrates a unique interpretation of Russian style.

Throughout the interior, one can observe an abundance of prints, patterns, and decorative elements reminiscent of Mezen painting—a traditional Russian folk craft from the late 19th century that originated in a village along the banks of the Mezen River, known as a heart for wood painting. The references to Mezen culture are particularly significant as it is in the Republic of Komi that the largest relict forest on the Eurasian continent is located. The patterns inspired by the traditional crafts of the northern peoples of Russia gain profound meaning and serve as a unifying element within the decor. This authour’s interpretation of a relict symbolizes local and cultural identity while simultaneously alluding to the location of the natural reserve.
